Swimming class
Because “Swimming” is rarely included in many school curricula (particularly in township schools) there are few children and adults who know how to swim.
Needless to say, this is a serious problem in a water-rich area such as Plettenberg Bay- and judging from the number of people who drown in Plettenberg Bay each year, swimming is a skill that can be of vital importance.
That is why, for the past few years, BIA has begun organising swimming classes in several schools- and no less than 70 children each year are being taught how to swim.
