Community work

siya phambili community work Born in Africa encourages involvement not only from the children, but their parents as well. Thanks to our support, twenty mothers are now working together in a small craft shop called “Siya Phambili”, which in Xhosa means “we go forward”.

The bead work created here, including a range of fresh water pearl items, is widely admired and appreciated by the many tourists who pass through Kurland Village, located approximately 25km east of Plettenberg Bay in an area called “the Crags”.

If you wish to view or purchase some of the wonderful work they do, feel free to visit them at Kurland Village, or email them.
