1 July 2015 - Anton Van Wilrode Award
BIA chairman Remi De Backer and his wife Lieve de Backer received an award at the annual Anton Van Wilrode poem competition. Cyriel Paul Coupé (28 June 1918 – 15 June 1998) was a Belgian writer and poet, also known by the pseudonym Anton van Wilderode. His poetry is characterized by the usage of a traditional poetic form and clear language combined with a romantic style.
The competition is an annual event where students are invited to enter a poem - topic carte blanche. Born in Africa entered the competition last year and had 2 students win in the Afrikaans category.
Congratulations Lieve and Remi and thank you for all you do for Born in Africa!
