Parent meetings took place the past two weeks in Wittedrift, Crags Primary and Kranshoek Primary. They were well-attended, accompanied by a slideshow and feedback of activities so far as well as plans for 2014 were given by BIA staff, mentors and volunteers.

Isabelle introduced our staff, their responsibilities, uniforms and other projects currently running. Belinda spoke about rules and regulations, mentor themes and the tertiary project. Wesley introduced the volunteers and their various activities such as music and life skills classes, spoke about camps and the bicycle project as well as the Learn to Swim program. Karien gave updates about the Dream in Africa program. Mentors also had the opportunity to share about their work with the children. We were also honoured by the presence of Belgian Chairman, George de Smul, and his wife, on their once a year visit to BIA South Africa.

Parents also had the opportunity to ask questions and speak to us individually about concerns, many expressing their gratitude to us for the positive impact we have on the lives of their children.
