2 April 2012 - Compostella - Born in Africa
Dear Madam/Sir, We, Henk Koning and Jacqueline Stilmant, will depart on 17 April 2012 to“Santiago de Compostella”. Our starting point will be from Le Puy en Velay, historic departure town of the pilgrims who walk the “Santiago de Compostella” on a journey of 1500 km. Now that we both are retired, we have the time to do something for those around us in need who can use our help. We have therefor turned this personal adventure into a sponsor adventure! With the funds raised on the journey we will be assisting Born in Africa with their many projects. Born in Africa (BIA) is a NPO who is activly involved in upliftment projects in the disadvantaged communities surrounding Plettenberg Bay, South Africa. Education is one of the fundamental rights of all children. Therefore, we are committed to the long term educational development of underprivileged children in South Africa. A solid education provides solutions for these children to get out of hopeless situations- often dominated by poverty, abuse, and unemployment. Only when these children are given the opportunity to obtain a decent education will they have any hope of entering the labour market. Visit our blog and take part in our journey!
