3 October 2012 - Jobshadowing for a brighter future

It is so important to expose our adolescents to various career options. Many young folk have a distorted idea of a career because of media, films and advertising. To give them a better perspective on what is expected of them, BIA organises job shadowing for our Gr 11 learners. We arrange for them to spend a day at a company of their choice whiles shadowing an employee of the company. This gives them the opportunity to ask questions, become acquainted with the profession and make the final decisions whether this is the career for them. We have had many youngsters changing their career choice as a result of their job shadowing experience which is vital in applying for university studies.

Recently 3 of our Gr 11 and 1 Gr 12 students took part in this project which much success. They are Alberto Wilskut who wants to study accounting, Donnolene Aaron and Chandré Plaatjies who want to become social workers and our Gr 12 learner Shavon Prins who has been accepted at the International Hotel School for 2013. She spent three days at The Plettenberg Hotel where she worked in all the departments.

Well done to our learners who take their future responsibility very serious. They make us proud!
