ING Solidarity Award
On the 6th of February 2014, the award ceremony took place for the prestigious ING Solidarity Award. There were a total of 1440 participating teams. Besides receiving a reward for gaining an incredible total of 1373 votes in the open online vote, Born in Africa received an additional award of 10,000 € for being the favorite project of the jury.
ING’s aim, through this competition, is to give recognition to the stunning work of Belgian non-governmental associations and give them financial support, thus proving it’s worth as a socially responsible bank.
The judges selected the BIA student scholarship fund as their favorite project out of category, based on a weighting system which depended on the following criteria: Compliance of the dossier, quality, originality, impact and implementation.
