Jay-Lee Martins

Hi, my name is Jay-lee Martins. I'm from Plettenberg Bay, where I live with my parents and 2 siblings. In 2022 I commenced my tertiary studies at Varsity college, located in Port Elizabeth, where I did the first semester of the Bachelor of commerce Marketing management. For the past few years, my family has has known many financial struggles. My father lost his job 2 years before I entered my matric year. It was extremely difficult, not just for me but for our whole family. My mother had to work hours and hours just to receive coins which couldn't even satisfy our basic needs. For a matric student to face that kind of obstacles was challenging at first but I had to stay focused on the main goal which is to become a success in the future so that I can tell my story.
