Born in Africa turned 15 years old in 2018!

It's already been another great year for Born in Africa in which we also proudly celebrated our 15th birthday!

February 2018 was a big month for Born in Africa and all of our children as we celebrated our 15th birthday and welcomed no less than 100 godparents and sponsors from overseas in Plettenberg Bay!

Throughout our celebration week they got to see all the different schools we are active in and meet the mentors, teachers, BIA staff and, most importantly, their godchild personally!

It was a week full of emotions, with a lot of laughter, joy, amazement and tears of happiness. The children performed beautifully for the godparents and made us all feel very welcome at their school or in their home.

Even though the whole week was absolutely unforgettable, the Thursday evening was possibly even better. All our godparents, sponsors, children, mentors and staff got together to enjoy our birthday party, have dinner and get to know each other better. More than 200 people were present and it was amazing realizing that every single one of them has contributed to the success of Born in Africa!

We then finished off the week with a bang, as we assembled all 400 children again and marched through the streets of Plettenberg Bay to show everyone who we are and how passionate we are about making a change in the Bitou area. Watch the video below to relive that amazing day and be sure to follow our YouTube Channel and Facebook Page to stay updated.

We are confident we can go for another 15 years and are happy we can go on with so many amazing people supporting us. Thank you to everyone who celebrated with us and to everyone who contributes in their own way, all around the globe.

Together we can make a difference!
