As Meshay Jacobs embarked on this exciting new chapter in her academic journey at the beginning of 2025, we can't help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride and joy. Pursuing a teaching degree at Varsity College for the next four years is a testament to her unwavering dedication and perseverance. Meshay grew up in Kranshoek and joined the Born in Africa program when she was in grade 7 at Harkerville Primary School. She attended and completed her high school career at Plettenberg Bay Secondary school. Born in Africa is honoured to be supporting Meshay on this significant milestone in her educational journey. Things were not always easy at home, yet this did not ever stand in her way. Meshay's story embodies the very spirit of our mission. We believe in her potential and are confident that she will make a positive impact in the lives of her future students. This will be a 4-year degree she is pursuing in Intermediate phase teaching which means she will graduate as a primary school teacher.
