Usiphile Matikiti

Queeny, as she is known by us, graduated from Wittedrift High in 2019 as head girl. The following year, she started studying a 5-year Bachelor of Pharmacology course in Cape Town at the University of the Western Cape. Growing up in difficult circumstances clearly never hindered Queeny to reach for her dream and virtually finishing top of her class proved that. At the end of 2023, Queeny completed the Bachelor course and commenced her Master's in Pharmacy Administration and Policy Regulation in February 2024! A few months into 2025, she informed us her studies are now behind her and all that is left for her is to do her internship, which is a paid position at Mitchell's Plain Hospital. For that reason, we decided her journey with Born in Africa is now complete and we will just remain available to Queeny for any emotional or motivational support. We are so proud of what she's reached so far and there's no doubt she's going to make a great pharmacist!
